We heard from Steve Knoll this week that Greg Rickes, “the voice of Lime Rock Park” Is under the weather. He has been the commentator at Lime Rock since the sixties, with a mass of accumulated knowledge especially of the historic race cars. He’s been a big advocate of bringing the 1952 Schaghticoke Streets Manning Special to home ground at Lime Rock for quite a few years now. Schaghticoke where it was built by Wally Chapman is only an hour away from Lime Rock.
We are hoping that Greg will be there to commentate on the racing exploits of the car he loves so much. Steve wrote to Rob and me “Would like to do something to cheer him up & let him know we are thinking of him, I’ll let you know if I have any brainstorms & will keep you informed if I learn more.” My response was to record a little piece to camera for him which you can view on the YouTube link below.
