Steve Knoll has been a friend and co-conspirator of Rob Manson for some 20 years and was present in Barcelona when the idea was born that Rob should go motor racing. Rob’s brother-in-law Don “Slim” Pepperdene was at the same meeting; the initiative and a future collection of race cars was named Escuderia California. Rob has gone on to a stellar race career in a works Mallock Clubmans car in the UK and with his historic hot-rod road racers in California.
