The photo was taken at the CSRG David Love Historic Car Races at Sonoma, California, on Saturday March 25 2023, The meeting fielded over 200 of the finest vintage race cars including races for the 1950s road racers of the Del Monte Trophy Race Group. It was the season-opening CSRG Racing, Northern California’s premier Vintage racing organization.
Rob adds some detail… Jim Alder was the recipient of the Del Monte Trophy Over 2000cc award at The Velocity Invitational in October 2022. The names of the Over and Under 2000cc recipients are added to the perpetual trophy plaques on the heritage trophy and smaller replica trophies get made for each winner. Saturday was the first opportunity I’ve had to present it to Jim. All of the DMTRG guys racing this weekend at Sonoma gathered to do the presentation. The photo was done by Gregor Magnusson’s wife Jen. The Under 2000cc presentation to Dennis Adair will get done at the next race that we both attend.
