The atmosphere we create at the Rolex Monterey Historic Reunion or at the Velocity Invitational are inspiring places, even for someone not immersed in motor racing legend and diff oil. Rob Manson, I and several of you made my old friend Andrew de Lory – veteran and photographer from Fremont CA – feel welcome at Laguna Seca in August 2024.
How nice to see him mention us in his year-end letter; I reproduce the paragraph below. That ride into Alvarado Street impresses even the most seasoned drivers; Andrew donned his goggles, held on tight and loved every minute. Two days later, Rob Manson raced this 1953 Kurtis 500S Dodge to 2nd in class in our final with a best lap of 114.533 seconds. 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button won the class with a best lap of 110.424 second
