Who knew the car was gold and dark green? Stunning. Bill Pollack drove Tom Carstens’ Allard J2 with its Cadillac V8 engine to victory in the main race of the 1951 Pebble Beach Road Races. It was the Pebble Beach Cup, SCCA National Sports Car Championship (round 2) 27 May 1951. Bill completed 48 laps in 35mins37.2secs, a speed of 101.806 km/hour. The photo was taken by Bill’s brother Jim Pollack.
