Kaiden Marouf, 1951 supercharged MG TD

We do not have any info on the supercharged MG TD #155 car from the driver or the owner. If you know either please ask them to send us the gen. My email address at the bottom.

What we do know is that Kaid was awarded the Del Monte Trophy for under-two-litre cars at our race event in 2019 (presentation photo below). Here’s the in-period” report from the Allard Register blog, with thanks,

“The entrance to this paddock area is fittingly decorated with rows of snow fencing and hay bales which were deemed to serve as protection for spectators back in the day, along with several historic black and white race photos from the early ‘50’s. This provided an ideal setting for a gathering after Friday afternoon’s practice, with all 38 cars from Group 1B on display. A more casual affair was held Sunday afternoon where the Del Monte Trophy was awarded to Tim Barnes (over 2L) and his 1951 Jaguar XK120 and to Kaiden Marouf (under 2L) and his 1951 supercharged MG TD.”

The 2019 Under-2-litre Del Monte Trophy was awarded to Kaiden Marouf and his 1951 supercharged MG TD

I case you are not aware of the history, The Del Monte Trophy was held on the twisty, leafy, and very narrow town roads in Pebble Beach, California from (1950 through 1956. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pebble_Beach_Road_Races) As interest in the cars of that period took hold at the Rolex Monterey Historic Reunion at Pebble Beach’s replacement, the nearby Laguna Seca race circuit, so the leading lights among the owner/drivers in the 1949-1955 sports car race group created the “The Del Monte Trophy Race Group” with an accompanying web site and register(www.dmtrg.com), social media, a dedicated and poster-lined paddock area and regular frii-of-charge club updates. DMTRG-registered cars are those that raced at Pebble Beach 1950-1956 or existed at that time and would have been eligible for the Pebble Beach Road Races.

My thanks to Tam MacPartland and Peter Darnall for some of these photos, the late regretted David Gentry for the fine arts version. My regards, Marcus Bicknell – marcus@bicknell.com
