π πΆπ π³πΌπΏ ππΌπΏπΈππ°πΏπ²π. The Corkscrew at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is a legendary, highly technical 3-turn complex. It plunges nearly 59 feet over just 450 feet of trackβa 5.5-story drop. With its completely blind crest and switchback sequence, it demands absolute precision from drivers.

How could I be so rebarbative as to show the ones of Rob Manson in his Tatum GMC special, our steward and my boss, handling a brake failure (that was his story) into the Corkscrew in the 2019 Group 1B qualifying race. Oh, and the wrecker truck to pull him out of the kitty litter.
β’ The “Zanardi Pass”: In 1996, Alex Zanardi executed a daring, controversial, and famous overtaking maneuver on Bryan Herta in the dying laps of a CART race, going completely off the racing surface to make the pass.
β’ Rossi vs. Stoner: During the 2008 MotoGP race, Valentino Rossi overtook Casey Stoner by heavily riding the inside dirt/kerb of the Corkscrewβa legendary move that cemented the corner’s lore.
The Corkscrew certainly ranks up there with Eau Rouge/Radillon at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, the Carousel at the NΓΌrburgring Nordschleife, Germany, the Grand Hotel hairpin at Monaco, Paddock Hill Bend at Brands Hatch and the Parabolica at Monza, Italy.
